Celebrating its first year of trading under the Opergy name following a management buy-out in 2019, Opergy is going from strength to strength.
Led by Johnathan Reynolds and Kim Duffy, Opergy is already a go-to industry consultancy developing leading roles in the region’s energy transition plans and growing its team to develop new client opportunities.
The team are already working with clients including EDF Energy on its new Sizewell C plans and Net Zero community programmes; being a founding partner of Hydrogen East, driving the emerging hydrogen sector across East Anglia; and working with Renewable UK to lead the delivery of the Offshore Wind Sector Deal’s people and skills work, promoting increased diversity and jobs growth throughout the UK.
The business also supports a range of start-ups and established firms on finance and investment strategies and improving management systems; and playing a lead role working with the University of East Anglia, Cefas, and ORE Catapult in developing the £29 million ‘SuNRISE Coast’ research and innovation programme.
Opergy is building its reputation as a leader in clean energy solutions, supporting companies looking to expand as well as those diversifying and exploring new technologies solutions that support growth.
Martin’s experience in the sector and his prominent leading roles at a national level will further accelerate the rate of Opergy’s growth and strengthen their offer. Martin is well known in the offshore wind sector for driving James Fisher Marine Services to secure major contract wins which include the Galloper offshore services contract and multiple contracts with ScottishPower Renewables East Anglia One.
Martin’s role at Opergy will see him bring a wealth of experience to the company in both a consultancy role as well as developing Opergy’s network of associates to deliver commercial contracts across industry, specialising in business development, commercial and contractual solutions together with market entry and market forecasting services, his networks and contacts across the sector along with the prominent roles he holds position him perfectly to deliver this support to companies at a local and national level.

Martin is a passionate supporter of renewable and low carbon energy in the UK. He sits as a non-executive Director on the board of Renewable UK and is a strong and vocal supporter of the East of England which he can often be heard describing as an “Energy Powerhouse”. He also acts as the East Anglian Offshore Wind Cluster Champion, sitting on the region’s All-Energy Industry Council [AEIC] and is a non-executive Director of the East of England Energy Group [EEEGR], chairing its Offshore Wind Special Interest Group [SIG].
